Competitions
WA Volleyball League (WAVL)
WAVL is a multi-division competition that provides an avenue for players of all levels to play competitive club volleyball. Unlike Junior League, divisions are arranged by skill level, not age, and are played at multiple venues on Sundays (and some Friday nights), from May to September. Divisions run from State League for WA’s top volleyball players to divisions for beginners and developing players. Southern Cross athletes are placed into teams based on their performance at club grading sessions which occur at the start of the season.
More information on WAVL is available from VWA here.
WAVL Fees
SCVC is very careful about our fee structure. To minimize cost to players, we determine the cost of game fees based on the number of players in each team. Game fees are also determined by VWA yearly, and therefore changes to fees are expected year to year.
Our fees are composed of a Club Membership fee, plus the VWA Game Fee and is comprised of two installments:
Included in the fees:
Weekly training with an accredited coach
Team equipment
Team registration fee
Not included in the fees:
Team playing uniform (shorts and shirt for WAVL)
Optional apparel such as knee pads etc
VWA Platinum membership
Alcohol Think Again Beach Tour (ATABT)
Many Southern Cross members play competitive beach volleyball during the indoor off-season by playing in Western Australia’s premier beach volleyball competition – the Alcohol Think Again Beach Tour. Information regarding this competition can be found through the Volleyball WA website here
A Beach Junior Tour is also available for juniors, starting in January. Please contact us if you would like more information on junior beach volleyball.
